Demands of the War (BGS Chronicle April 1918)
"left the School in 1915 (sic), and shortly afterwards entered the H.A.C., in which he was made Lance-Corporal and attached to the stretcher-bearers. During an action on October 9th last he became missing, and though some traces were found, his death must now be presumed. His capacities had just begun to develop when he left Bristol, but his career at Durham was cut short by the demands of the war."
